Varsity Cup Managing Director Duitser Bosman has had a vision for this tournament since its inception in 2008. A moment during this past week's Varsity Shield fixtures proved to him just how this vision is already working.
This picture - on the front page, and right (in the story) - was taken after the Varsity Shield match between the University of KwaZulu-Natal and the Central University of Technology on Thursday.
FNB CUT, the defending champions, beat FNB UKZN by 30-10, but both teams still had time to share a sponsor's product afterwards at the Peter Booysen Sports Park.
"It's always been a dream of mine - to see players sharing a table after a hard-fought Varsity Rugby match," said a clearly proud Bosman, who emailed the photo to us.
"This is what tertiary sport is about... players from different teams and universities sharing a table and making friendships for life; Keeping the Aggro on the Field in a real way!
"It's very pleasing and makes us feel very good about the tournament and the players involved."
