Ikeys Under-20s bounce back

The FNB UCT Under-20s produced a massive second-half performance to defeat FNB TUT's Under-20s by 45-2 in the new Varsity Young Guns competition.

UCT snuck ahead after a try by right-wing Senzo Tenza gave the team an 8-2 lead at half-time in a relatively uneventful first half.

However, after the break the Cape Town side came out firing following a stern talking to from coach Andrew 'Gunner' Hughes during the break.

UCT ran in 37 unanswered points in the second half with the bench making all the difference to construct a few long-range tries and secure a valuable bonus point win in this Steinhoff Pool fixture.

This victory would have helped UCT to regain some confidence following their opening defeat to Shimlas, while it was another tough loss for the struggling TUT Young Guns who lost badly to Tuks' youngsters last week.
