Sam Mabombo (seen with ball in hand) was crowned Player that rocks during the 2012 Varsity Cup match between FNB Maties and FNB Shimlas from Danie Craven Stadium
Each Player that Rocks gets a R1200 cheque courtesy of FNB as well as a Rotary time piece. The player that rocks will wear the pink shorts in the next fixture to raise awareness to the "Keep the aggro on the field" campaign - taking a stand against violence against women.
Varsity Cup players are gentlemen and in the spirit of the pink pants, the Player that Rocks gets to chose a lady in his life to have 50 pink roses delivered to.
