The Steinhoff Cobras will represent UCT at the 2012 Steinhoff Koshuis Champs, after beating the Steinhoff Tornadoes in a hard-fought Internal League Final at the Green Mile on Wednesday evening.

UCT Under-20 coach Andrew 'Gunner' Hughes is adding the final touches to his team's preparations ahead of the inaugural Varsity Young Guns competition.

Prof Grootboom & Ikey Tigers helping out

Early on in the season the Ikey Tigers & Prof Grootboom took some time off their training schedule to help out at Sisters Incorporated, a home for abused woman and children.

The team helped with odd jobs around the house, cleaning, fixing and having some fun, while doing their bit to make the home a bit more comfortable for it's residents.

'Young Guns will add depth'

FNB UCT's Western Province and Stormers scrumhalf Nic Groom believes the new Varsity Cup Young Guns competition will add plenty of depth to the overall competition and, hopefully as a result, the Ikey Tigers too.
