Verster to wing it for NMMU

FNB NMMU back Anton Verster has been moved from scrumhalf to the wing for Monday's Varsity Cup Round Two clash against the FNB Shimlas in Bloemfontein.

With Verster in the No.11 jersey (after starting at scrumhalf against the NWU-Pukke on Monday), Charlie Purdon will start at scrumhalf in Week Two, with the vastly-experienced Marlin Ruiters providing plenty of firepower from the replacements bench.

In changes up front, hardman André Goosen will wear the No.7 jersey, with Ulrich Pretorius switching to the other side of the scrum (in place of Jaco Otto), and Louis Fourie takes over as No.5 lock from Mathew Lutge.

Both Otto and Lutge drop out of the Madibaz matchday 23 altogether, with Schalk Oelofse joining the fray as a replacement this week.

* NMMU hosted the Shimlas in Port Elizabeth last year, with the Men from Bloemfontein winning a hard-fought last-round league encounter by 17 points to 13.
