Pukke choose for Maties battle
Centre Joubert Engelbrecht will captain an unchanged FNB NWU-Pukke line-up when they host the FNB Maties in Varsity Cup Round Two action in Potchefstroom on Monday evening.
The Pukke started their 2012 campaign with a useful 26-16 away win over the NNMU Madibaz last Monday, but they will be in for a completely different challenge in Week Two when they host the three-times champions.
The Maties began their new season with a 52-2 demolition of the FNB TUT Vikings last week, but they won't find their hosts in a charitable mood come Monday night.
Last week's two-try hero, Andrew van Wyk, and his wing partner, Joe Seerane, will be hoping for some front-foot ball; the latter, of course, having broken Maties hearts with some crucial tries in last year's National Club Champs semifinal in Stellenbosch - a game the Men from Potch won by 39-36.
