Helderberg cause upset
Stellenbosch's Steinhoff Koshuisrugby League is in full swing after the winter recess and Steinhoff Helderberg were responsible for the first upset of the second semester on Friday after beating Steinhoff Medics 20-14.
Steinhoff Majuba also surprised by beating Steinhoff Simonsberg, last year's champions, by 25-22.
In other matches, Steinhoff Dagbreek beat Steinhoff Huis Visser 24-10, to strenghten their posistion on top of the log, Steinhoff Helshoogte beat Steinhoff Eendrag in a local derby 7-0, Steinhoff PSO Barbarians beat Steinhoff Wilgenhof 22-7 and Steinhoff Huis Marais beat Steinhoff Elsenburg 20-17.
After six rounds, Dagbreek (26 points) are still in first position on the log - followed by Helshoogte (24), Helderberg (22), Medics (20), PSO Barbarians (18), Simonsberg (14), Wilgenhof (13), Majuba (13), Elsenburg (10), Huis Marais (8), Huis Visser (8) and Eendrag (5).
The fixtures for Friday, July 29 are as follows: Dagbreek v PSO Barbarians (D Field), Helshoogte v Helderberg (E Field), Simonsberg v Eendrag (F Field), Wilgenhof v Huis Marais (G Field), Majuba v Huis visser (H Field) and Medics v Elsenburg (Tygerberg).
All matches will get underway at 5pm.
