Happy happy with performance
NMMU Northernz coach Happy Mashabela was very proud of team's efforts in the Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships this past week - that after his side began their campaign with a 33-33 draw against defending champions, Steinhoff Vishuis.
The Men from PE managed four tries en route to holding the Men from Shimlas to a high-scoring draw and coach Mashabela commented: "The guys were outstanding, their performance really was great.
"I think they really battled in the heat though," he told varsitycup.co.za, "thus not giving them the edge to complete the game with a victory and rather a draw."
Mashabela is expecting his team to walk away with a definite win next week (against Steinhoff Patria - from Pukke) and is really looking forward to this fixture, as his team has been training hard these past few days.
He added: "I think Northernz really played well overall this past Monday; however, I am especially proud of Viaan Van Heerden, Joe Anderson and Matthew King - let's see what my players will give us in their next fixture - I definitely think we are a strong team."
We, as NMMU supporters, are really looking forward to seeing what Northernz do this Steinhoff Koshuisrugby season.
Come on Northernz - bring home the title!!
