Monitor suffer opening-day loss
Steinhoff Monitor, the reigning champions in TUT's Steinhoff Koshuis competition, suffered a heavy first-round defeat to a fired-up Steinhoff Magalies team on Monday evening.
Monitor went down 5-43, whilst Steinhoff Patriot - who gave up the TUT Koshuis title to Monitor last season - opened with a useful 36-17 win over Steinhoff Lezard.
In the evening's final match, the Cent Spartans recorded a whopping 69-10 over a gallant Steinhoff TUT Shoshanguve unit.
Round Two of TUT's Steinhoff Internal League will take place on Thursday, with the entire competition coming to an end with a finals day in mid-October.
Of course, the winner of TUT's Internal League will compete in the 2012 Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships which runs in conjunction with the Varsity Cup, Shield and Young Guns tournaments.

MATCH 1: Steinhoff Patriot 36 Steinhoff Lezard 17
Steinhoff Patriot skipper Andre van Zyl led from the front in their game against Steinhoff Lezard as he launched attack after attack. No.8 Willem smit scored a hat-trick of tries. For Steinhoff Lezard young lock Tjaart Pretorius gave his best.

MATCH 2: Steinhoff Magalies 43 Steinhoff Monitor 5
Steinhoff Magalies flyhalf Ewald Meiring produced the performance of the evening when he led his team to a big win over the 2010 champions.

MATCH 3: Cent Spartans 69 Steinhoff TUT Shoshanguve 10
Spartans lock forward Marius Harmse helped his team to a big win with a good performance against Steinhoff TUT Shos. Shos tried their best but could not match the physicality of the Spartans. Shos, however, were rewarded with two brilliant tries.
