Monitor eye final revenge
Steinhoff Monitor will be looking to exact a measure of revenge on Steinhoff Magalies when the two sides meet in the final of TUT's Steinhoff Koshuisrugby competition on Thursday.
Monitor, the defending champions, suffered a heavy defeat to Magalies in the opening round of the competition but bounced back with two consecutive wins in the truncated pool format, to secure their place in the finals.
They will be hoping to erase the memory of that defeat with a final win over Magalies.
Their opponents, though, have been in imperious form throughout the pool stages - dominating the games they have played in. Magalies sealed their place in the final with a 43-0 demolition of TUT Shos to top their pool with an unbeaten record.
The winner of the final will go on to represent TUT at the 2012 Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships, which runs at the same time as the FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International.
As TUT's Koshuisrugby champs last year, Monitor played in the 2011 edition of the Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships, but failed to win a match at the tournament.
They will be hoping to defend their title, on Thursday, and then go on to give a better account of themselves next year in the Koshuisrugby Champs.
Finals day schedule - Thursday, October 13:
Steinhoff Patriot v Steinhoff Lezard, 6pm
Steinhoff Magalies v Steinhoff Monitor, 7.10pm (2011 Koshuis Final)
Spartans v Steinhoff TUT Shos, 8.20pm
