Down to last four at UJ

UJ's 2011 Steinhoff Koshuis league has displayed some entertaining rugby over recent months, although the prestigious tournament is heading to its climax as the top four teams in both leagues approach the semifinals on Wednesday.

After a thrilling round robin stage in this year's competition, the Steinhoff Koshuis points table has the most deserving teams on top after some fast and exciting rugby throughout the season.

All credit must be given to Steinhoff Bastion, as the proud squad managed to finish on top of the First Division log by winning every match, sticking to an expansive gameplan throughout, too.

Bastion are set to take on Steinhoff Majuba, who, while finishing fourth on the log, acquired enough points through their similar free-flowing style of rugby. The match-up between these two should be a high-scoring affair and Majuba will be looking to put the frontrunners under some pressure.

On the other side of things, Steinhoff Kanniedood will be looking for their place in the final as they face-off against Steinhoff Afslaan, who themselves have a point to prove.

Lying second and third respectively, Kanniedood and Afslaan have both shown their attacking prowess with plenty tries being run in throughout the competition; although Kaniedood's impressive defending will be pivotal for the team.

The semifinals inevitably sets the Koshuis league towards an exciting conclusion and each team will be at the top of their game in order to be a part of that final.

* Meanwhile, Steinhoff Chiros, Steinhoff Soweto, Steinhoff Bastion and Steinhoff Kanniedood will contest the Second Division semifinals - also on Wednesday.
