10 Reasons the Spectators are the Biggest Winners at Monday’s final

FNB Varsity Cup

FNB Maties are hungry to do what they haven’t managed in eight years. FNB NWU would love to make history again and claim their second title. One of them will win big. But regardless of the title-holder come Monday night, the fans are guaranteed to win big. Here’s why.

5FM will bring the heat beat
Varsity Cup and 5fm have teamed up to bring the magic of this social competition to the masses this season. Not only will the Thabooty Drive team be broadcasting live from Danie Craven, but 5fm will host the official after party at Terrace, with DJs including Pascal & Pearce, Das Kapitaal, Nick Hamman and more!

Die Heuwels Fantasties live!
Stellenbosch favourites, Die Heuwels Fantasties are sending their lead man, Pierre Greeff, to sing the national anthem live right before kick-off.

Steers are feeling generous
Steers have tantalized the taste buds of every Varsity Cup supporter around the country with their flame grilled goodness. On Monday night, apart from serving up the country’s finest burgers, they will be sending their delivery scooters to hand out freebies to the passionate crowd.

Springboks and Stormers are big fans too
It’s no surprise that with many of the nation’s top players having emerged from the Varsity Cup, that so many of them are die-hard fans of the competition. Expect to see Springboks such as Dillyn Leyds, Stormers like Craig Barry and a number of rugby legends, all in the stands screaming their lungs out.

Steers Build-a-Burger just got bigger
It’s become one of the most popular additions to the Varsity Cup in recent season. For the final, there will be four times the thrill, as four giant burgers are built in record times with the aim of winning free Steers for a month!

Giant Zorb balls
In case the massive collisions on the pitch weren’t enough, at half time, two teams will go head-to-head in giant Zorb balls. The collisions should be epic!

FNB reward students who can spell
Varsity Cup have always emphasized the importance of academics and FNB have taken it a step further. Fans should look out for the FNB t-shirts handed out and join their fellow lucky fans, also donning the iconic turquoise attire, to spell a word using the letters printed on the front of their shirts. Hundreds of Rands worth of e-wallets will be given away, with more than 20 winners on the night.

Flying Fish are adding some flavour
Flying Fish have come up with a refreshing way to kick off the party, by awarding a lucky residence a party bus experience to the match. Look out for their Flavourfontein set-up at the final and add some flavor to your night.

See tomorrow’s stars today
FNB have backed Varsity Cup for more than 10 years and it’s because they see the importance of rugby from Grass Roots to Greatness. This is your chance to watch the Handré Pollards, Eben Etzebeths and Seabelo Senatlas of the future. Raw rugby talent at its best.

You get to #MakeTheTeam
Arguably the biggest ‘win’ of the night is that supporters, fans, family members, girlfriends, grannies, cheerleaders, groundsmen, medical staff and everyone between, all get to #MakeTheTeam and be a part of something spectacular. Will you be there to help FNB Maties or FNB NWU to the title? Will you #MakeTheTeam?
