FNB UWC Young Guns break their 2020 season duck in Bloemfontein

FNB UWC Young Guns managed to record their first win of the season by narrowly beating FNB CUT's Under-20 29-28 in Bloemfontein.

It was a ding-dong battle between the two sides with neither enjoying much more than a narrow at any stage of the game. Ultimately, the young UWC side deserved their victory, thanks to outscoring CUT five tries to four.

The hosts led 18-12 at the change, and had ample opportunity to remain in the lead, but two unforced line out errors in UWC territory cost them dearly.

CUT's backline also seemed porous at times while their reserve prop Wiehann Pretorius  spent 10 minutes on the Afkoelstoel, enabling the visitors to break through their defensive structures and gain vital territrorial advantage.

UWC wing Patrick Kotze, benefitted, by scoring two tries for the visitors in the second half, and converting one to help UWC take the victory.
