Steinhoff Bastion will represent UJ in the Steinhoff Koshuis rugby Championships next year after beating Steinhoff Drom 18-12 in their final.

Bastion raced out to a commanding lead, and despite a late comeback from Drom it was not enough as Bastion held on for victory.

Bastion took a half-time lead of 15-0 by scoring two tries from Lwazi Sithole and Cornel Vermeulen, a conversion and a penalty by flyhalf Sifiso Shabangu before the break.

In the second half Shabangu kicked a penalty to take the lead out to 18-0 before Drom scored their two tries to end 18-12.

Steinhoff SWC ended the year unbeaten in the Steinhoff UJ Koshuis liga B-Section final by outscoring Steinhoff Vorendag by three tries to two.

This win meant a lot for the growth of rugby on the SWC campus. Steinhoff SWC will be promoted to the Steinhoff UJ Koshuis liga A-Section for 2015.
